STANDARD PARTS — BUY ONLINE
Shop Standard Mold Components
Standard mold components you can order online in USD, in fixed pack sizes, without waiting for a quotation. These are the metric parts a tool room replaces most often, priced per pack with the size chosen at checkout.
Ejection system
SKD61 nitrided ejector pins — packs of 10, one size per pack. Vacuum hardened then nitrided to 60±2 HRC at the surface over a 42±2 HRC core. The two-level hardness is deliberate: the hard case resists wear where the pin rubs, and the tougher core absorbs side load instead of snapping.
Through-hardened ejector pins — packs of 10, hard the whole way through rather than just at the surface. Use these where the resin is abrasive, or where your shop cuts and regrinds pins in-house, since a nitrided pin loses its case the moment you grind the diameter.
Stepped ejector pins — nitrided SKD61, packs of 5, sized P x D x L - N. Packs of 5 because a stepped pin normally replaces one for one rather than in batches.
Blade (flat) ejector pins — packs of 5, chosen W x P x D x L, in nitrided or through-hardened grades, for thin ribs and narrow bosses where a round pin will not fit.
Return pins — sets of four. Replacing one of four cocks the ejector plate and bends the pins on the other three, so they are sold and changed as a set.
Stop posts / ejector plate limit posts — S45C, sets of four. They set return travel and keep plate faces off each other. Height match across the set matters more than the nominal height.
Die springs
65Mn rectangular-wire die springs in three JIS load classes: yellow extra light (TF/SWF), blue light (TL/SWL) and red medium (TM/SWM), packs of 2.
Two things to check before ordering. First, colour is not universal — ISO 10243 assigns the same colours to different classes, and yellow and green are exact inversions between the two systems. Order by outside diameter, free length and load class in words, never by colour alone. Second, maximum compression is quoted against a cycle count: a yellow spring is about 50% of free length at 300,000 cycles but about 40% at one million. Size a long-run tool against the one-million figure.
Runner and sprue
C-type sprue bushings — metric sizes. Tell us your nozzle seat radius (SR) and gate hole diameter at checkout and we confirm both in writing before anything is cut. Bore-to-seat concentricity, not orifice size, is what usually causes drool at the nozzle.
Z-type runner puller pins — hardened, packs of 10. The end form has to match how your runner releases.
Positioning and fastening
Metric locating rings — single pieces, sized as outside diameter – bore × thickness.
Grade 12.9 shoulder screws (stripper bolts) — packs of 2. Specified by shoulder diameter and shoulder length, not by the thread. The shoulder must be slightly longer than the part it passes through, or tightening clamps the moving part solid.
Choosing a size for a replacement part
For a straight replacement in an existing tool, matching the diameter and overall length is normally enough. Two things catch people out:
- Cutting a nitrided pin to length removes the hard case at the cut face. That is fine at the head end, but not if the cut end becomes the working end running in a bushing.
- Measuring a worn locating ring rather than the platen hole means you locate to the wear, not to the centre. Measure the machine.
Documentation and packing
Material certificates and hardness reports can be supplied on request — tell us what your quality system needs and the scope is confirmed in writing. Ground surfaces are oiled and individually sleeved, packed with VCI paper and desiccant in a rigid box, because ground steel travelling by air or sea will rust if it is packed loose.
When to use the RFQ route instead
Use Custom & Drawing-Based Mold Components for non-standard dimensions, drawing-defined geometry, different materials or hardness, tighter tolerances, or volume pricing. If you are not sure whether a standard part will do the job, send the drawing and we will tell you — including when the standard part is the cheaper answer.
