CUSTOM / DRAWING-BASED PARTS
Custom & Drawing-Based Mold Components — Request a Quote
Everything here is quoted rather than priced: non-standard sizes, drawing-based parts, replacements for a mould already in production, special materials, and standard parts modified to suit. If you cannot find a size in the standard catalogue, it belongs here.
What makes a quote fast and accurate
Most delays in quoting are not capacity — they are missing information, and the same five things are missing almost every time. Quantity, because the price per piece at five is a different price per piece at two hundred. Material, or at least what the part has to survive. Hardness with a range and a measurement location, since surface and core are different numbers. Which dimensions are functional, because tightening everything to the same tolerance is the most expensive way to draw a part. And the destination, since freight and duty on steel components are a real part of your landed cost, not a rounding error.
Working from a sample instead of a drawing
Very common with replacement parts. A measured sketch with the fitting dimensions marked, plus photographs with a rule in frame, is normally enough to start. Say which surfaces were worn — a part measured as it came out of the mould is already undersize where it matters, and copying it faithfully reproduces the wear.
What we will tell you before you commit
Whether the part can be made as drawn, what we would change and why, the price, and the lead time. If a tolerance on the drawing is achievable but expensive, we will say so and propose the alternative rather than quietly quoting the high number. If something is outside what we can do properly, we will say that too.
Confidentiality
Drawings and files sent for quotation are used for quotation and production only. They are not shared with other customers, published, or used as examples. We are happy to sign your NDA before you send anything.
