What the lifter base does
The lifter base is the sliding foot that carries an angle lifter in the ejector plate. As the ejector plate rises, the lifter rod is driven up at its angle and the base slides sideways in its slot to absorb the horizontal component. Every millimetre of sideways travel the rod demands has to be available in the base's slot — that is the whole job.
Two things follow from that. The base has to slide freely under load without picking up, which is why these are nitrided rather than left soft. And the slot has to be long enough for the full stroke: a base that runs out of travel does not fail gently, it jams and bends the lifter rod on the same shot.

That is the standard specification for this part type. Note that the surface figure is quoted in Vickers, as a nitrided case should be — the case is too shallow for a meaningful Rockwell C reading. We confirm the material certificate and the measured hardness for your batch in writing before shipping.
Choosing a height
Height sets how far the base sits below the lifter rod, and it interacts with your plate stack rather than standing alone. Measure from the ejector plate face to the underside of the rod at the home position, with the plate fully returned. If you are replacing a base on a running tool, measure the old one — do not scale from the drawing, because bases are frequently machined down at fitting.
Single-side T-slot: orientation matters
An A-type base has the T-slot on one side only. It must be installed with the slot facing the direction the base needs to travel, which is the direction the lifter leans. Fitted a quarter turn out, the base binds on the first ejection stroke.
This is worth a moment at assembly rather than at first trial. If your layout needs travel in both directions, or the lifter angle is compound, a B-type or peanut-head base is the right part instead — ask and we will quote it.
Not listed here
Several variants are deliberately not in the size selector:
- 14 × 14 bases and other sizes carrying an "A" sub-type suffix in the maker's code. We have not confirmed what that suffix designates, and we would rather quote it than guess.
- Rectangular bases such as 32 × 48. The two base dimensions are not interchangeable on a single-side T-slot, and the maker's code does not make the orientation unambiguous. Tell us which face carries the slot and we will confirm it in writing.
- B-type, peanut-head, JIS and adjustable bases, and matching lifter rods and guides.
Request a quote for any of these with your dimensions and lifter angle.
